Rename Families and Types

Rename multiple families and family types at once. Filter by category, select rows, define the new names (directly or with batch rules), then apply.

  1. Select a category. Use the Select Category dropdown (e.g., All Categories or Furniture) to filter the list.
  2. Pick what to rename. Check the rows you want. The grid shows Family Name, Type Name, Updated Value (preview), and Write a Value (manual entry).
  3. Set the new names.
    • Direct edit: Type a name in Write a Value per row.
    • Batch Rename: Use Prefix / Suffix and/or Find / Replace With. The Updated Value column previews the result (e.g., adding "FUR_" or replacing "_Student" with " - Student").
  4. Apply. Click Rename Selected. Each click reapplies the current rules to the latest names (as indicated in the window), so you can iteratively refine results.
  5. Legend. Loadable families and family types are editable. System families are shown as non-editable and cannot be renamed.
